Start with a clear scope.
CIG Interiors provides acoustic plaster installation as part of specialist interior packages. Start with the acoustic specification, the visual brief and the substrate information, so the finish can be considered alongside the rest of the ceiling or wall build-up. This is a distinct service, not a general plastering substitute.
Scope to discuss
- Specified acoustic plaster systems for walls and ceilings
- Substrate, backing and perimeter-detail coordination
- Junctions with lights, access panels, grilles and adjacent finishes
- Finish samples, inspection stages and protection through handover
Where the finish fits
Discuss acoustic plaster where the design calls for a continuous surface and the room needs sound absorption. The brief might relate to a reception, meeting area, teaching space or other shared interior; the actual system and area must follow the project specification.
The appearance, thickness, backing and permitted substrate depend on the chosen system. We do not describe every acoustic plaster as interchangeable or promise one absorption rating across all installations.
Resolve the details before installation
The package needs clear boundaries around substrates, corners, movement joints, access panels and building services. Lighting and access requirements should be coordinated before the finish is closed up. Agree the extent of any preparation and remedial work rather than leaving it implicit.
Samples and a suitable inspection stage help the project team agree the finish. Access, drying or curing requirements, environmental conditions and protection from following trades should be included in the programme, using the selected manufacturer's instructions.
Define the evidence and the handover
Agree the system reference, approved detail set, inspection information and care instructions needed for the package. Where a project requires a manufacturer-approved installer, that approval must be checked for the named system before the appointment.
An installed finish is not, by itself, a promise that a room will meet its acoustic design target. The designer should define the required performance and any completion testing. We price and coordinate the installation against that brief.
Questions about this package
Is acoustic plaster the same as ordinary plaster?
No. It is a specified sound-absorbing system with its own build-up and application requirements. Ordinary plaster or an unapproved decorative coating is not a substitute.
Will it soundproof a room?
Acoustic absorption helps control sound reflected within a space. Sound insulation between rooms is a separate requirement involving the full separating construction, openings and interfaces.
Can you price a named manufacturer's system?
Send the exact system and specification. The team must confirm suitability, any installer approval requirement and the installation scope before making a project-specific commitment.
What information helps at tender stage?
Layouts, treated areas, system specification, substrates, heights, perimeter and service details, finish expectations and programme. Flag any items that remain provisional.
